Product Description
Offering candid, heartfelt, and inspiring stories of 40 diverse individuals who have been affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), this compilation creates a connection that is vital to those dealing with the mysterious and difficult symptoms of this nerve condition. With 10,000 new cases diagnosed in the United States each year and its causes still not fully understood, these stories of personal experience act as a support group by offering advice and encouragement and creating a sense of community. The collection also features current medical information by noted experts in the fields of MS research and treatment. The resource section is packed with organizations offering hope and help for those with MS and their families and friends.

| Customer Reviews: Voices of Multiple Sclerosis April 19, 2010 Rover (Minneapolis, MN) This book opens with a chapter explaining the Healing Project, a physician's chapter on MS basics, and a celebrity (Teri Garr) punch up. It ends with a list of go-to organizations and institutions for MS information, treatment, support.
In between is heart, all heart. Two thirds of the essays are written by MS patients, the rest by family members. The essays don't silence the voices of pain and problems any of them have with the disease, their jobs, families, or physicians. We hear that. But louder, clearer, are their songs of solutions. And--there's not a sweet Pollyanna among them. These folks are belting it out, full of rhythm and life. What an intrepid lot! What a great book to read to lift your spirits.
